We’re all wage slaves.
That’s right, even those with incomes above $200k a year. They, like the rest of us, live day-to-day, month-to-month at great risk: their lifestyle would crumble from prolonged loss of that income.
It’s a game we’re all playing. For some it’s life and death. For others, it’s just making ends meet. For others still, it’s the highlife.
The game is “earning a living”. Earning a living is the polite term describing what we all are forced to do in status quo economies. It’s a game because, like all games, earning a living has nothing to do with begin human. It’s something that keeps us busy, entertained or distracted from what’s important: loving, relationships, self-awareness and expression. Self actualization.
In the old days, the game could be won by any of us. Winning means no longer having to earn. Pensions and retirement plans made winning possible. Not so any more. Today, only those with massive fortunes can win. Or have won.
For the rest, the game is stacked. Not in our favor.
It doesn’t matter who created the game, where it was created, or for what purpose. What matters is this: why are we still playing it?
The world has changed. We now have technologies that enable us to do pretty much anything we want. Including inventing new social systems. Systems recognizing we no longer need to be forced to earn.
“Earning a living” is no longer a worthwhile human pursuit. That game’s been won. Time to declare the winners winners. Then start a new game. Let’s call the new game “Freedom and Wealth for Everyone.”
